Americana Reading Series

Americana Reading Series In-Person

The Norfolk Public Library’s Americana Reading Series seeks to explore the diverse landscape of American culture through literature and dialogue. By selecting titles that focus on universal themes of the human experience, readers connect through their similarities while delving in to manifold lived experiences in the United States.

The series facilitator selects reading material to help foster wide and inclusive perspectives of American life and culture. Each book is used as a focal point for discussion and as a means to explore a variety of topics related to American experiences, culture, and history. Readers participate in guided discussion and are offered additional resources including reading lists and video and audio clips.

Registered participants will receive a copy of the month's book, a notebook, and other notetaking supplies. Copies of each title in large print, e-book, and audio formats are also available to borrow.

Readers can register by clicking here or emailing Anneka at aramirez@norfolkne.gov
